Tyler Arboretum New Hires Signal Continued Growth
MEDIA, Pa., March 6, 2020 –
Tyler Arboretum, Delaware County’s premier outdoor campus for nature enthusiasts of all ages, has expanded its team, announcing three new hires and 2 senior level promotions.
New Hires
Nancy Heinbaugh has been connected with Tyler for several years, generously donating her time as a volunteer for nature tours, special events and educational programs. Her vast knowledge of Tyler’s volunteers and operations will allow for a seamless transition into her new role as Volunteer Coordinator in which she will be oversee volunteer recruitment and retention.
Olivia Kirkpatrick is a distinguished graduate from the University of Delaware with experience in landscape design and horticulture. In her role as the Wister Rhododendron Gardener, she will oversee the design, planting and maintenance of Dr. John Casper Wister’s renowned collection.
Benjamin Mickel brings a wealth of experience managing farms, gardens, greenhouses and orchards with a focus on sustainable development and organic gardening. In his role as the gardener for Lucille’s Garden, Benjamin will be responsible for the design, planting and maintenance of Tyler’s
1.25-acre fruit, herb and vegetable garden showcasing horticulture for the home gardener with environmentally friendly practices to sustain, nurture and restore the land.
Promotions
Julia Lo Ehrhardt has recently been promoted to Director of Community Engagement after serving as the Volunteer Outreach Manager for the past six years. She will play a key role in strengthening Tyler’s relationship with local nonprofits and government agencies as we expand our group tour and volunteer recruitment initiatives.
Brian Prato has been promoted to Director of Site Services after serving as the Special Events and Rentals Manager for three years. Brian will be responsible for overseeing operations in the Visitor Center and logistics management for weddings, special events, and corporate retreats at Tyler.
