SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-6
Are you looking for ways to increase your child’s awareness of the natural world? Then join us for A Chest Full of Stories with Miss Karen, held monthly at Tyler! Exposing children to the wonders of nature has been shown to spark creativity and imagination, so we’d love to help families encourage a lifetime of learning about the world in which we live.
We will take a short walk to the Garden Schoolhouse and look around for signs of fall. Then, we will get ready for Thanksgiving by listening to Turkey’s Escape Plan by Julia Zheng. Turkey wonders if he will become Thanksgiving dinner and thinks of ways to escape. Come find out if he escapes, becomes Thanksgiving dinner, or something that is a total surprise for the day. After the story, the children will make their own turkey to take home. Please dress for the weather, as we may be outside if the weather is mild.
This program is for children ages 3-6 with one supervising adult. Check in at the Visitor Center first, and then we will enjoy a short walk to the Garden Schoolhouse. This program will be held indoors from November through March. However, we may be outside for part of the program on mild winter days, so please dress accordingly.
