For Adults 18+ and Youth ages 15-17
We will be hiking out with guide David Eberly to see owls in the Pinetum, as well as other areas outside the deer exclusion fence. We’ll be on the lookout for Great Horned, Screech, and Barred Owls. Less likely but always possible are Saw-whet and Long-eared owls. If the sky cooperates, we will be treated to a waning gibbous moon when we start the walk. Listening to owls calling in the moonlight is an experience not to be missed.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Registration closes by 4 pm on the day of the event, so be sure to register on time.
Gates will open at 6:45 pm and close promptly at 7:15 pm, so please be on time. The group will meet in the Tyler parking lot. Intended for all-level birders. Rain or shine. Please wear layers and have appropriate hiking shoes or boots for wet conditions. Bring hiking sticks to assist in challenging terrain and binoculars. Pack water and a snack.
