Tyler Camp Community

November 6, 2020

Dear Member of the Tyler Camp Community,

We know that the past eight months have been challenging as families juggle the demands of work (or search for new employment), daycare (or lack thereof) and helping children with remote learning. When we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 summer camp season at Tyler, we were hopeful that this was a temporary measure as vaccines and noticeable declines in COVID-19 cases throughout our region would soon be within reach.

For the past six months, our team has been hard at work monitoring CDC guidelines, COVID-19 case statistics, and guidance from the American Camping Association to determine whether we could safely resume in-person programming, even on a much smaller scale.

Our priority is – and still remains – the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors.  For that reason, we have decided to cancel our summer camp season for 2021, and wanted to provide you with as much advance notice as possible, so that you can make decisions for your family in a timely fashion.

While we are all hunkered down, staying healthy, and doing our critical part to move beyond COVID-19 as quickly as possible, please know that Tyler Arboretum is still a perfect place for your family and/or pod to enjoy a self-guided tour, picnic, workout, or mental health break as you explore our collections, Butterfly House, tree houses and trails!

With love and gratitude,

Mandy Santiago
