Adult Group Lectures
If you can’t come to us, we can come to you. Programs are available for garden clubs, senior groups, corporations, civic associations, or other adult groups. Our aim is to connect you to Tyler’s diverse landscapes and programs through illustrated lectures.
A range of 45 minute, illustrated presentations on gardening or nature are available for groups of 10 or more participants. Topics for these presentations include but not limited to:
- Blooms and Butterflies
- Native Plants with Culinary merit
- Gardening for Birds and Butterflies
- Great Gardens of the Delaware Valley
- Introduction to Vegetable Growing
- Native Plants for the Home Landscape
- Perennials for Shade
- Perennials for Sun
- Woodland Wildflowers
Presentations are given by Amy Mawby or Julia Lo Ehrhardt.
Julia Lo Ehrhardt is the Community Outreach Manager at Tyler Arboretum and engages volunteers, interns and groups such as yours with mission related topics. Julia has over 25 years of experience in the public garden field which includes directing the Anderson Japanese Garden, directing the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden, and managing outdoor horticulture at Baywood Greens and Longwood Gardens. Most recently, Julia was the Director of Visitor Experience at Mt. Cuba Center where she managed the tour programs and visitor services. Julia earned a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of British Columbia and a M.S. in Public Horticulture from the University of Delaware, Longwood Graduate Program.
Amy Mawby is the Director of Public Programs at Tyler Arboretum. Amy is responsible for the management of the Public Programs department and oversees the coordination of volunteer services and Visitor Center staff and operations. Amy previously worked as Education Coordinator for Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve and has interned at Morris Arboretum, and at the New York Botanical Garden and Cornell Plantations. Amy earned a B.S. in Plant Science from Cornell University and a M.S. in Public Horticulture from the University of Delaware, Longwood Graduate Program.
We welcome suggestions for topics that your group would like to explore. Additional fees may apply for excess mileage.
Pricing for 45 minute illustrated presentation. Extra charges may be incurred due to commute length.

Weekdays, between the hours of 9am – 8pm
10 – 20 attendees: $100
21 – 40 attendees: $200
41+ attendees $300
Weekends, between the hours of 9am – 5pm
10 – 20 attendees: $200
21 – 40 attendees: $300
41+ attendees $TBD
