TYLER ARBORETUM RECEIVES GRANT AWARD FROM PROJECT W

MEDIA, PA (June 9, 2021) – Tyler Arboretum is pleased to announce it has been selected as one of three finalists for the 2021 Project W Grant Program. The finalists will be awarded grants totaling $60,000 at the Annual Meeting (via Zoom) on June 16th at 7pm. Project W Members will vote prior to that night to award the organization with the most votes the top grant of $30,000; the two remaining organizations will each receive $15,000.

“The generous grant award will enable us to create a year-round, paid internship opportunity within Lucille’s Garden at Tyler Arboretum, which we developed with our program partner, Tutoring for Adult Life Learners (T.A.L.L). The internship is specifically designed for adult women with disabilities with an interest in horticulture who would like to gain hands-on work experience operating a 1.25-acre organic fruit, herb and vegetable farm, in which 100% of the fresh produce will be donated to the Media Food Bank. We are incredibly grateful to the Members of Project W and T.A.L.L. for their philanthropic leadership and support of this innovative program,” adds Tyler’s executive director Mandy Santiago.
