“The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
Nature makes the best teacher and the fields, forests, streams and gardens of Tyler are a living classroom. Our curated experiences foster a deep love of the natural world, inspire confidence and independence, and create active and engaged citizens of all ages. Tours, citizen science projects, story time, how-to videos and much more are created by staff and volunteers to help you build upon your knowledge of our natural world, while sparking your curiosity.
These programs, whether on-site or online, empower adults to follow their passion and further their interest in nature, horticulture and botany. They inspire children to explore their environment in multisensory ways and provide a platform for parents to foster a life-long love of nature and learning in their children.
Our mission is to create stewards of the natural world. Whether you engage with these educational activities and programs virtually, at home in your backyard, or on-site at Tyler, you will be inspired by all there is to know about the incredible 650 acres that make up the Arboretum, and the vibrant and fascinating planet we call home.
Visit our Calendar to review programs, be inspired, and – most important – get outside!
