Description
‘White Tigress’ Manchustriped Maple gets its name from its vertically striped green and white bark. The foliage is a soft green, turning golden yellow in the Fall. The luminous white bark is particularly stunning in the winter, when the tree is leafless.
It is an open multi-stemmed deciduous tree with a shapely oval form. Racemes of chartreuse flowers appear along the branches in early spring.
Acer tegmentosum ‘White Tigress’ prefers partial shade ans is best planted with an eastern exposure or as an understory tree to protect the bark from sun scald.
