Description
This brilliant selection covers itself with an abundance of large red fruit. Makes great cut branches for the holiday season. Winterberry is a dense multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a shapely oval form. Summer flowers are inconspicuous but attract pollinators. Requires a male plant for fruit production; ‘Jim Dandy’ recommended.
It prefers moist, acidic soils. Its tolerance to wet soil makes this a useful plant in poorly-drained landscapes. Works well in hedges and mass plantings.
