Pennsylvania Educational Improvement

Tax Credit (EITC) Program

Connecting children to nature is at the heart of everything we do here at Tyler.

If your business would like to support school field trips to Tyler—and receive a tax credit—we hope you will consider enrolling in the EITC program.

Pennsylvania gives tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, and/or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization.

The application cycle for new business applicants opens on July 1 of each year.

Tyler Arboretum is an eligible Educational Improvement Organization and uses awarded EITC funds for our School Field Trip Scholarship program for under-served schools.

Tyler Arboretum’s school field trips use our natural landscape as a living laboratory. Students explore plant and wildlife adaptations, diverse ecosystems, and how they affect us. Children in urban low-income neighborhoods have the fewest opportunities to learn about the natural world.

Of the 15 school districts and 69 elementary schools in Delaware County, 8 districts have 39 schools with financial need. Tyler’s School Field Trip Scholarships support admission fees and transportation to make it possible for students from these schools to learn through experience in nature at Tyler.
