Trail Reopening: Guided Tours for Members and Donors
After months of closure due to the impacts of the emerald ash borer, we know many people are itching to get back on the trails. We are tentatively planning to reopen a selection of trails to the public beginning on Sunday, April 7. In anticipation of this reopening, we’re offering exclusive interpretive hikes as an opportunity to get reacquainted with the natural lands beyond the deer exclusion fence. These hikes are provided in appreciation of your patience with and support of the Arboretum during a difficult time.
We are hoping to offer a version of these hikes to the public after reopening, but for now, we are limiting this experience to donors and members.
About the Tour:
Trail Reopening Tours will cover approximately one mile along the Blue Trail with frequent stops to answer questions, observe examples of the impact of the emerald ash borer, describe the forest management practices that were engaged in response to the ash crisis, and share some future restoration initiatives. Registration is required!
