SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 15-17

Experience the magic of Tyler as the day transitions to night!

The days are long in July, allowing us to begin this hike in daylight and end under the light of the full moon. Hiking at night is a unique sensory experience. We will use our senses of hearing, smell and touch to navigate the forest. Our guides, Dick Cloud and John Bunting, will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights. We hope to see and hear some of the nocturnal wildlife that make a home in Tyler’s natural areas!

This moderately paced hike is for adults and teens comfortable walking 3+ miles on uneven terrain, including short distances along steep trails. All teens must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy hiking boots. Feel free to bring binoculars to observe the moon.

This program starts after Tyler’s closing hours. The gates will open 15 minutes before the program begins and close promptly 10 minutes after the start time, so please be on time. Once you arrive and park, please check in with the staff associate at the Visitor Center Patio, where the group will gather.
