FOR ADULTS (18+) AND TEENS AGES 15+
Escape the summer heat on Tyler’s shaded forest trails.
This two-mile ramble promises tranquility and natural beauty. We’ll follow the scenic Blue Trail alongside Rocky Run Creek. Instead of crossing the creek, we’ll take the Purple connector trail and continue to Indian Rock, where we can enjoy the beautiful view and contemplate the rock’s mysterious purpose.
Our return journey will take us along the upper Blue Trail. This trek through rocky terrain offers peaceful vistas, diverse native plants, and the chorus of birdsong. Enjoy the forest’s natural air conditioning provided by the lush canopy above, making it a perfect summer escape.
There’s more to discover in Tyler’s 650 acres. Join Dr. Richard Brenner for a walk through the various eco-communities at Tyler. From seasonal wonders, living fossils, meadows, watery locations, geological treasures, conservation areas, and unexpected wildlife, Richard will expertly guide you to prime areas for an experience you will remember. Expertise from others will often be on hand for a more in-depth exploration. These rambles are for those who have a love for nature, exploring, and learning. While a description of each ramble is posted in advance, we reserve the right to make last-minute changes, including adjustments for weather and trail conditions. Bring your reusable water bottle and dress for the weather, including sturdy shoes.
Upon arrival, please check in first at the Visitor Center, where you’ll then meet your guide.
