Measuring Trees

Looking for a fun activity with the family?  Here is something that you can easily do just by walking and counting.  Pick a tree and see if you can tell how tall it is.

For reference, here’s how tall everyday landmarks are:

2-story house = 20 to 25 feet

Telephone pole = 36 feet

The White House (to the top of the roof) = 70 feet

Statue of Liberty (from the base of the pedestal foundation to the tip of the torch_= 305 feet and 6 inches

Empire State Building (to the tip) = 1,454 feet
