Description
This dense, compact evergreen azalea has deep green leaves and spectacular orange red flowers. The flowers, both single and semi-double forms, start in July and continue through the Fall. The habit is low growing and tight, with disease-resistant leaves.
Be sure to plant in light shade, in well draining, acidic soil. Rhododendron ‘Conleb’ cannot tolerate wet feet! Use as a hedge or screen, or as a single accent plant.
Evergreen azaleas develop as multi-stemmed plants from the ground and usually grow 3-5 feet tall. They retain their leaves throughout the year and are not as winter hardy as the deciduous azaleas. Mulch in the summer to keep root moist and dry and to protect the roots in the winter months.
