This Thanksgiving, we’re counting our blessings—and at the top of our list is our incredible volunteers! 💚

In 2024, 215 volunteers dedicated 12,771 hours of their time to Tyler Arboretum—a remarkable increase of 795.5 hours from last year! That’s the equivalent of adding 6.5 full-time staff members to our team.

Their efforts have made a tremendous impact, from helping us welcome back 36 school field trips this year to supporting the over 45,000 visitors who walked through our gates. Last week, we had the honor of celebrating some of our most dedicated volunteers at our Volunteer Awards Dinner, but our gratitude extends to every single person who gives their time to help Tyler thrive.

To all of our members, donors, and supporters—thank you for your generosity. And to our volunteers—thank you for being the heart of our community. ❤️

Standing tall, not far inside the main entrance, our Kentucky coffeetree has become a cherished part of Tyler’s landscape. This majestic beauty has been a steadfast presence, welcoming visitors season after season, but like all living things, it shows signs of aging.

After losing a large limb last year—and another recently—we called in experts to carefully clean up the damage, protect the trunk, and add cables to support the limbs that remain.

Watching this tree grow older reminds us of nature’s resilience and fragility. Just like us, trees age and adapt over time. We’re doing everything we can to care for this incredible tree, so it can continue to welcome visitors for years to come.

Next time you walk by, take a moment to marvel at its strength and beauty—and maybe send it a little love. 🍃
