Press Release

May 19, 2020

Dear Tyler Supporter,

I hope that you and your family continue to remain safe and healthy.  And, I hope that I can ask for your assistance with an urgent matter.

Tyler remains closed to the public through June 4th as the mandatory shutdown for non-essential businesses remains in effect.  But, you have the power to help change that.

HB2489 has been introduced in the Pennsylvania Assembly, which seeks to provide Pennsylvanians with access to outdoor recreational venues.

PA State Representative Chris Quinn has introduced an amendment (A05792) to specifically include arboreta, such as Tyler, and botanical gardens under the same waiver that currently allows state parks and golf courses to remain open.

I am writing to request your help – please contact your state legislator by phone or email in the next 24 hours to encourage him or her to vote in favor of HB 2489 and A05792.

Thank you for your time, consideration and assistance in helping Tyler re-open safely to our members and visitors.

Sincerely,

Mandy Santiago
Executive Director
