FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH AGES 12-17

Join us to learn how we can support monarch butterflies!

The monarch butterfly, one of Earth’s most beautiful creatures, is known for its awe-inspiring migration. Unfortunately, it has also become a symbol of the population decline affecting all pollinators. Join Tyler Docent and Xerces Society Ambassador Woody Kotch for an update on the monarch butterflies, including the latest numbers on their overwintering in Mexico. Woody will also discuss ways we can support monarch populations in our area. The program includes a presentation, literature from the Xerces Society, and a Q&A session. Weather permitting, there will be a guided tour of the Pollinator Preserve following the presentation.

The Xerces Society is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. As a science-based organization, we both conduct our own research and rely upon the most up-to-date information to guide our conservation work. Our key program areas are pollinator conservation, endangered species conservation, and reducing pesticide use and impacts. Learn more at https://www.xerces.org/.
